Jo-Carroll Energy plans brief outages in Geneseo area for equipment upgrades
Two brief planned outages will take place on Monday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 14 for all of Jo-Carroll Energy’s Geneseo area members.
One of the cooperative’s transmission providers is coordinating work with one of our power suppliers that requires an outage to the system that serves members in the Geneseo area. To minimize a disruption in service, Jo-Carroll Energy crews will perform two shorter, scheduled outages to switch to an alternate source of energy. This will allow Jo-Carroll Energy to continue service while crews complete preventative maintenance and upgrade work that will help enhance system reliability.
Members in the affected area should expect power to be interrupted for approximately 5 minutes as cooperative crews switch to an alternate source of energy. The two brief outages will occur between 8 and 10 a.m. on March 12 and between 2 and 4 p.m. on March 14.
“We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this work,” said Jesse Shekleton, director of engineering. “We are working to limit the outage times for our members.”
