Each year, Jo-Carroll Energy. searches for outstanding high school seniors to represent the cooperative in the JCE Scholarship and the Illinois Electric Cooperatives (IEC) Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The two JCE scholarships are for sons or daughters of cooperative members and will be awarded, one per county in the cooperatives service areas. (Jo-Daviess and Carroll Counties)

The IEC Memorial Scholarship fund is designed to provide financial assistance to deserving students from the electric cooperative family. The fund was established to provide a means by which cooperatives and individuals could honor deceased members of the electric cooperative family through memorial gifts.

Scholarships awarded by JCE and the IEC committee are based on grade-point average, college entrance test scores, work and volunteer experience, participation in school and community events, biographical statement and knowledge of the electric cooperatives, as demonstrated by a short essay.
